Nourishment and Body Image in

Winter Sports

This clinic is Part 3 of a 4-part nutrition series designed for those of you with big plans to play in the mountains this winter. The nutrition series is included in our our SNOW PREP package, but is also open to the public. We highly suggest you attend all 4 clinics, but clinics can be attended stand-alone.

An overview of Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs) and common (and uncommon) signs and symptoms of an underfueled body. We’ll navigate how to look for these cues, reject food rules and give yourself permission to honor your own body intuition, and ways to adjust body image mindset. You’ll leave this session with a greater understanding of how incredible your body is and how to properly nourish it for life so that you can continue to play without limits!

*“ski” is a loose term around here. What we mean is:

Nordic lovers, mogul shredders,

backcountry patrollers,

blue run cruisers,

park riders, and all winter adventurers

who want to learn how to properly nourish themselves

for a full, active snow season

  • Unsure of what types of foods your body needs as an active person?

  • Confused about how to fuel during outdoor activities?

  • Fatigued and struggling to recover from training?

  • Lost in managing gut issues during exercise?

  • Excited about the idea of hanging out with your community twice a month while learning cool new things?

  • Interested in nutrition coaching at a more affordable price than 1:1 sessions?

If yes, this workshop series is for you!

Full Series Descriptions

  • In this session, we’ll dive into the principles behind sports nutrition for strength training in order to optimize your ski conditioning classes. We’ll break down the truths and myths around protein and muscle building, how to fuel before a strength session, and ways to enhance recovery.

  • An introduction to the role that carbohydrates, protein and fat play in your body as an active human. We’ll review the what and why behind the foods we eat on a daily basis and dive into how to structure your meals to nourish your active lifestyle. At the end of this session, you’ll leave with tools and personal goals to practice building your own Performance Plates.

  • Signs and Symptoms of Underfueling, REDs, and Tools for Navigating Body Image

An overview of Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs) and common (and uncommon) signs and symptoms of an underfueled body. We’ll navigate how to look for these cues, reject food rules and give yourself permission to honor your own body intuition, and ways to adjust body image mindset.
